Literature Text
You are in a vast forest. You walk into a big clearing, a meadow. Soft, lush, green grass is growing with little clumps of tiny yellow flowers here and there. The meadow is very big and is surrounded by trees on all sides, but one.
In the distance you see something glisten in the sun and run towards it. It’s a lake, filled with clear, blue, glistening water, not that deep. At the bottom you can see the white sand and little fish swimming. Around the lake are cherry, peach, and apple trees, ripe and sweet-smelling, in full bloom. You pull a peach off of one of the trees and bite into it, tasting it’s sweet juices.
You look up to see a smooth grayish-black rock with the clear blue water flowing silently over in and into the lake. How could you not have noticed it before? A waterfall. You pull off your clothes, glad you had decided to wear your bathing suit under your shorts and tee shirt.
You slide slowly into the somewhat shallow water. You feel the crisp coldness, and dive under, coming back up feeling refreshed. You splash and float before diving under once again, wishing you could stay here forever.
When you come back up, you are somewhere else- the middle of a rough, choppy-watered ocean, with no one around you. The sky is dark and gloomy. Thunder rumbles and a sharp bolt of lightning shoots across the pitch black sky as rain pours down on you. Your drowning. You yell for help, not realizing there is nobody in miles distance to hear you.
Everyone is safe at home, everyone except for you. A gigantic wave splashes over you, pushing you under. You struggle to get to the surface. Finally, you make it, gasping for breath and yelling for somebody to help you before it gets you. But they cannot help you, it’s already gotten them, and now it’s coming after you. You plunge beneath the icy depths, once again you try to break free. It feels as if someone is holding you down, pulling you farther and farther away from the surface, the air.
Suddenly, you feel dizzy and light-headed. Your eyes feel very heavy and you try to keep then open. You hear a voice: “Keep them open! Don’t stop fighting it!” It’s okay, you’ll only close then for a minute, then open them again. You’ll be alright. Your eyelids droop shut. You feel relaxed then heard the voice again, it’s getting louder and louder as your pulled down. You try to open your eyes, but you can’t. Your going insane, there isn’t any voice. There isn’t anyone to hear your cries, your all alone.
Nobody is pulling you down, are they? It’s just the water, the current, right? You try to gather your thoughts, but your mind is a sea of panic. You can’t think straight and lose all clear focus. You vision is fuzzy and blurred. Are those skeletons down there on the ocean floor, human skeletons? Am I really down that deep? You suddenly hit something hard, jolting you from your thoughts. You cry out in pain, your cry muffled by the dark water around you. You rub your side. Ouch. Is that a trickle of blood you feel? Or is it just the water? Your mind goes blank and the sharp pain goes away as you are knocked unconscious. IT’S GOT YOU. It’s got you, and your going to die.
Isn’t it amazing how so much can change in one moment?

I Hate That I Love You
I hate that you're my every thought
That I wake with you on my mind
And fall asleep
To images of your smile
I hate that I adore you so
With gorgeous eyes
And sweet lips
I long to taste
I hate the way you make me feel
Like I need you to survive
As if breathing without you
Is excruciating
I hate that I yearn for you
I hunger for your touch
Every moment
Of every day
I hate the way I love you
With every beat
Of my wretched heart
That loving you keeps me alive
Yet keeps me alone
Literature
He Calls Me Beautiful
He Calls Me Beautiful
He calls me beautiful
And I don't believe him
Because my eyes are too full
Of the tears I almost drowned in
He wraps his arms around me
And kisses my damp, salty hair
But I still can't see
Even if I know he cares
The competition has taken its toll
And I'm too tired to stand
He doesn't let me fall
So he guides me by the hand
It is like learning to walk all over again
Because I learn that rushing forward
Blind big steps lead to a tragic end
And he stays with me for the hard part
He calls me beautiful
And I don't understand
Why he's being a tool
Loving me when I can't
He has soothed me with a lullabye

Nobody's Perfect
She's not a perfect girl
But she never pretended to be
She's not a size 0 blonde
With perfect complexion
But she never wanted to be
She's not the most popular
The prettiest or smartest
The best dressed
Or the skinniest
But she never asked to be
She doesn't always get things right
She sometimes chooses wrong
Sometimes you offer your opinion
But she never asked for it
She follows her heart
And she follows her dreams
She might not always get what she wants
But she always tries to suceed
